I've read the novel, it is freakin' weird. No one can say Meyer is incapable of coming up with original ideas now and again. The book was also better constructed than her Twilight series. (Which bodes well for this film) It seems as though Stephenie Meyer improves (slowly) with every book. The Host was a completely visually oriented book, so this film is no surprise. If there are enough talented people (and Saoirse Ronan is a fantastic start) working on this film, it should come out more than decent.
