The Women Directed Films at 2013 New York Film Festival

The New York Film Festival announced their 2013 main lineup. New films from Catherine Breillat, Claire Denis and Agnieszka Holland are in the line up.

Of the 32 films in the lineup (not including Gala selection films which are all directed by men), six are directed by women. Notable women centric films include the much buzzed about Blue is the Warmest Color and Gloria.

Here are the women directed features playing at NYFF. The festival runs from September 27th-October 13th.


ABUSE OF WEAKNESS (Abus de faiblesse) Director: Catherine Breillat

AMERICAN PROMISE Directors: Joe Brewster and Michele Stephenson

BASTARDS (Les Salauds) Director: Claire Denis

BURNING BUSH (Ho rici Ker) Director: Agnieszka Holland

MY NAME IS HMMM... (Je m'appelle Hmmm...) Director: agnes B

THE SQUARE Director: Jehane Noujaim
