Looks like this will be Pixar's one shot at a film about a girl because they released the list of the next couple of movies and NONE are about women and NONE are directed by women.

We've got the Untitled movie That Takes You Inside the Brain in 2015, The Good Dinosaur in 2014, and The Untitled Movie about Dia De Los Muertos.  (This one is produced by Darla K. Anderson)

I read elsewhere that "Untitled movie That Takes You Inside the Brain" takes place inside a girl's head, so that could be promising, depending on who populates her head (It would *have* to skew female, right?)

That being said, there are no words for how EXCITED I am for Brave.

I'm really looking forward to this film; there's never been enough adventure movies with girls at the forefront. Hopefully the marketing won't pigeon hole it as a "girls cartoon".

Agreed, and, so far as I can see Disney/Pixar's marketing machine has not mucked up the gender issue. Just good ol' storytelling.
