George Takei

In his 77 years, George Takei has lived many lives: Star Trek actor, radio announcer, (heterosexual) sex symbol, Japanese-American activist, LGBT activist, social-media icon, and, at long last, documentary subject.

Director Jennifer M. Kroot captures these public selves of Takei, along with the actor's relatively private life with his husband-manager Brad. Billed as a love story between George and Brad, Kroot's film is determined to make audiences exclaim -- let's all say it together -- "Oh, my."

To Be Takei opens August 22 in theaters and on VOD.

I'm only 24 and I know very little about him but he's sweet and has a wonderful sense of perspective towards life, love and loss from his childhood until now. My best to him and his spouse and look forward to you being around for many years developing new ideas to help create a better future. Love to you Takei!
