Malin Akerman will be starring in Trophy Wife written and executive produced by Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins. As Deadline had reported, Trophy Wife received a cast-contingent pilot order earlier this month. With Akerman officially signed on, the pilot will go into production.

The comedy will focus on Kate (Akerman) a former party girl who falls in love with a man with major baggage which includes terrible children and two ex-wives.

Also, Ilene Chaiken, of The L Word fame, has sold a crime drama to CBS.

Solve for X will follow a game developer in San Francisco who agrees to participate on an anti-crime task force. Chaiken will write and executive produce.  Chaiken had previous crime genre shows in development at CBS which were ultimately not picked up.
