The CW recently released the trailer for their prequel series to Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries. The show follows Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) in high school, right after she's lost her mother and gets an internship in New York.
This is typically up my alley, but after watching the pilot over the summer, I found it a little dull, but not without potential. And as Alyssa Rosenberg smartly says over at Slate, there is major potential for The Carrie Diaries to capture the Sex and the City audience in a feminist and subversive way which would be new for mainstream teen television show.
The Carrie Diaries will premiere in January 2013.
