This is typically up my alley, but after watching the pilot over the summer, I found it a little dull, but not without potential. And as Alyssa Rosenberg smartly says over at Slate, there is major potential for The Carrie Diaries to capture the Sex and the City audience in a feminist and subversive way which would be new for mainstream teen television show.
The Carrie Diaries will premiere in January 2013.

I liked what she said about women going in and demanding the position of directing these films. I
I think KB is technically indie because her films aren't usually studio-financed, but yeah, I

I actually found the trailer to be a bit dull when my coworker at DISH showed me the trailer, so it doesnât surprise me to see someone whoâs already seen the pilot say it was pretty dull too. Iâm still going to check out the show though, since I want to see how itâs related back to Sex and the City. A lot of my other favorite shows are coming back in January also, so luckily I did just upgrade to a DISH Hopper DVR. Now I have a 2 terabyte hard drive to work with when recording my shows to my DVR, so I'll have no problem recording this new series and all of my other favorites at the same time. Iâm very interested in seeing what they came up with! :)
