Two Women Written Shows Bound for Broadway This Fall

Katie Holmes' first professional engagement in her post Tom Cruise life will be on the Broadway stage in Theresa Rebeck's latest play Dead Accounts.  The play premiered in January in Cincinnati and will play at the Music Box Theatre in NYC this fall.  Rebeck's play Seminar starring Alan Rickman ran on Broadway last season.  She is also the creator of the NBC show Smash

Kathie Lee Gifford (yes, that Kathie Lee Gifford) makes her Broadway debut with the musical Scandalous based on the life of early 20th century evangelical Aimee Semple McPherson.  Gifford, who has worked on the show for 13 years, is the book and lyric writer.  The play fran in Seattle in 2011 under the title Saving Aimee.  Broadway veteran Carolee Carmello play the lead. The play will begin previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on October 13 and will open on November 15.
